The Road To Brisbane 2032: Creating A Legacy Of Sustainability & Social Amenity In 21st Century Sports Infrastructure Design

In sports buildings there are deficiencies in the technology side which results in their construction and maintenance being not economical and efficient. With Brisbane’s population set to double in size by 2050, combined with its emerging status as an Olympic city, developers are diving into the city and the broader state of Queensland for its hot development opportunities. This discussion will focus on how to employ the principles of placemaking and human-centred design to create enduring architectural and property outcomes in the built environment. Key themes will explore adaptive reuse, low to no-carbon approaches, innovative technologies and environmental materiality applications and designing for spaces that can endure for decades to come.
