The recent residential building condensation and energy efficiency changes to the National Construction Code (NCC) for 2022 are the largest single sustainability amendments since 2006. While some fear these changes will increase overall construction costs and require alterations to standard building designs, other questions remain relating to maintaining comfort in a changing climate, electrification, reaching net-zero and controlling condensation.
And of course, there is also the question of how all this will affect the sustainability of our designs and builds.
So how will all these changes affect the industry in real terms?
