The project’s sustainability ambition is social, environmental and economic. It addresses the urgent need for more social housing while ensuring residents are offered comfortable, safe and well-connected homes. Located close to buses, light rail, local services and open space, the development supports reduced car dependence and everyday access to community infrastructure. During construction, the project also supported local employment and training pathways, including involvement by trainees connected with The King’s Trust Australia.

Environmental performance is embedded in the urban, architectural and construction strategies. Over 80% of dwellings are naturally ventilated and have excellent solar access, while ceiling fans are provided in lieu of air conditioning. Communal roof gardens, enhanced landscaping, retained and transplanted trees, and deep soil exceeding minimum requirements contribute to resident wellbeing, biodiversity and urban cooling.
