Jo Gillies

Jo Gillies immigrated to Australia as a 10-pound pom back in the day and ended up graduating under the tutelage of great Australian architects such as Glen Murcutt, Alex Tzannes and Alex Popov.

Jo’s practice (Jo Gillies.Architect) was running whilst raising 2 daughters. Archisoul Architects was then formed in 2012 and the focus was more about the defining of what emotions are invoked by design intent that ignite the soul of a building.

Jo’s philosophy for great architectural design comes from a successful link between emotion and function, inspiration and comfort, dynamism and stillness. A place is “not just a building”, it should be a place that the client feels they are
the soul inspired spirited guardians of.
