Sandy Anghie

Sandy Anghie (LLB BComm BEnvDes MArch RAIA) is a prominent figure in the architecture and design sector in Western Australia. She is the Co-Founder and Chair of Perth Design Week and a registered architect. Sandy also serves on the boards of the State Library of Western Australia, Perth International Jazz Festival, and committees of the National Trust and Law Society WA.

Previous roles include President of the Australian Institute of Architects WA, Deputy Lord Mayor and Councillor at the City of Perth, and editor of The Architect magazine. A vocal advocate for the City, she was a founding member of Historic Heart of Perth and Activate Perth – both organisations established to focus on urban renewal and vibrancy.

Sandy’s career in architecture follows her career in law and commerce. Sandy was admitted to practice as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1999, and worked at Australia’s leading law and accounting firms for a decade, with clients across various business sectors.

Sandy is the recipient of a number of awards, including the 2020 WA Emerging Architect Prize in recognition of her leadership and contribution to architecture within the community, and the 2018 National Association of Women in Construction Social Responsibility Award, in recognition of her significant commitment to a social cause within the construction industry.
