Russell Lee

Russell is a Director of COX, specializing in sports, leisure, and hospitality projects. With over 35 years’ experience, Russell is involved in the design and delivery of major projects spanning mixed-use, commercial, retail, public, and education. He has extensive experience in feasibility studies and master planning.

He is responsible for many of the firm’s innovative sports and community leisure facilities including the Sydney International Athletic Stadium, the 1998 Asian Games Aquatic and Athletic facilities, and the entertainment/sports complex, Qudos Bank Arena. More recently, he has been involved in the Hyatt Regency at Darling Harbour, the redevelopment of the Sydney Cricket Ground, Lusail Multi-Purpose Hall in Qatar, Rugby NSW Centre of Excellence, the NSW Cricket Centre of Excellence, and the Allianz Stadium Redevelopment, formerly known as Sydney Football Stadium.

Russell has completed projects in Australia and internationally and has maintained a high level of industry participation through lectures and study tours. His projects have won many awards, including the IOC/IAKS Gold and Silver medals. Sustainable design principles have always been a key consideration for COX, with our projects focusing on improving both the built and natural environment.
