Matt Kennedy is the Director of Arcke, an architectural studio that concentrates on creative residential projects in Brisbane. Arcke values the interaction between architecture and landscape, together with the tactile and sensual response to materiality. A high value is placed on sustainability, both in terms of the footprint and the life cycle of a building.
Arcke have been fortunate to receive a number of Queensland AIA awards, including the 2023 Robin Dods Award for River Hearth House, built on a flooding reach of the Brisbane River. Previous small footprint projects and sensitive renovations have also garnered AIA commendations including Frangipani Pavilion, Cummings House (Heritage) and Paddington Courtyard House.
Matt established Arcke in 2012 with a special interest in sub-tropical, passively-designed homes that aspire to elicit feelings of wellbeing and comfort, of connection and inspiration.
