Kathryn Walker is the National WHS & Sustainability Manager at Knauf Australia. She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from UNSW, and her professional experience includes working in manufacturing, technical services, innovation and marketing, and ultimately in sustainability and health & safety. Kathryn has led Knauf’s Sustainability approach for the past 10 years. In this regard her experience includes working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions, including product certifications and in manufacturing operations. The combination of Sustainability with Health & Safety is maybe not seen that often, but Kathryn regards it as a natural fit. She enjoys working with stakeholders and keeping them at the heart of what we do at Knauf – working on projects as diverse as developing solutions for customers such as Knauf’s Climate Active opt-in program, or Safety and Wellbeing leadership. Kathryn represents Knauf on industry bodies such as the Gypsum Board Manufacturers of Australasia (GBMA) Safety and Technical Committees, and represents the GBMA as an alternate on BPIC (Building Products Industry Council).
