Ian Weir

Ian is a director of Ian Weir Architect and is a research architect at Queensland University of Technology where he also teaches Landscape Architecture. He has 25 year’s experience designing homes in bushifre-prone biodiverse landscape around Australia He employs a multi-model process – which bridges art practice, cartography, industrial design, architecture and landscape – to generate designs that meet the primary objective of Sustainability: the conservation and celebration of biodiversity. Ian is a vocal advocate for innovative design and architectural adaptation to biodiverse landscapes, and his work and ideas have been broadcast internationally via features in the New York Times, CNN, Bloomberg and exhibitions at UNESCO, and The Venice Bienale.
