Debby Ray

An architect qualified in the US and UK, Debby’s 27 years experience centres on the education, residential and masterplan sectors, driving design and delivery of large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders and collaborative teams. Her high-profile projects together have won over 15 RIBA, AIA, WAF and Civic Trust awards including the Stirling Prize shortlist for Westminster Academy. She has lectured at the University of Cambridge, been guest critic at UCL’s Bartlett School of Architecture and University of Westminster, and is currently a judge for the RIBA London Regional Awards 2020.

Debby is an accredited BREEAM-AP with a track record of transforming practice culture and processes in sustainability through leadership. Her deep commitment to tackling the climate emergency is embedded in all her work, as demonstrated in her role as co-editor of the LETI Climate Emergency Design Guide (www.leti.london). Launched in January 2020, the guide has seen more than 20,000 downloads in over 100 countries. She continues to collaborate industry wide on NetZero initiatives and her recent W-B Journal piece, “Global Impact and How to Avoid Obsolescence” can be found on www.woodsbagot.com/journal .
