Andy Nguyen is a Senior Product Designer at Alspec. Having graduated from Industrial Design and sub majored in engineering at the University of Western Sydney, one of his thesis was on sustainable housing in which began his career path into the window industry. Spending 8 years in the R&D department at Trend Windows resulted to the development of Australia’s first bushfire window and door system and awarded the Australian Windows Association Design award in 2006.
Andy then commenced work with Alspec in 2011. During that time, he has been their Senior Product Designer and responsible for their Carinya residential window range. Over time he had developed for Alspec, a complete range of BAL40 Bushfire window and door suites that is offered in both residential and commercial applications.
Andy is a representative at the Technical committee for the Australian Glass and Windows Association and has shared his knowledge freely, within his own company and throughout the industry being acknowledge and awarded AWA’s Technical Award in 2018.
Andy believes designing creates culture, while culture shapes values and values determine the future.
Andy’s interest are in all types of sport, travelling around the world and admiring architecture; however his wife tells him its actually windows, windows and more windows.
