The Adaptable Living Range

Breathe with Spacecube

The Adaptable Living range is a collaboration from Spacecube and Breathe. These high-spec relocatable dwellings are designed to evolve and adapt over time as circumstances or geographic locations change. They are architecturally designed, small footprint homes that touch the earth lightly in a 21st century design response to the climate crisis. The range has been created to be easily modified to create larger living spaces or additional bedrooms if needed.

Sustainability is at the core of the Adaptable Living range with full off-grid solar integration. Careful attention has been paid to the dwelling’s reusability. Each is designed with quality manufacturing and Australian made products have been used throughout including all fixtures and fittings such as hardwood timber floor-to-ceiling doors and double glazed windows, allowing lots of natural light to shine in.

The Adaptable Living range is a great example of when two values aligned design firms come together to consider a unique approach to sustainable dwellings. Spacecube wanted to create a range based around the adaptability of each dwelling. This was achieved via a highly versatile ‘modular’ chassis which enables future reconfiguration by easily adding additional modules in order to increase living space or add bedrooms. This created a future proof asset that can evolve (or adapt) as circumstances or geographical location change. Breathe brought with them their wealth of knowledge in designing projects from a holistic, sustainable perspective to ensure The Adaptable Living Range would be exemplary in its sustainability outcomes.
