Climate change and the insurance industry – what does the future hold?

As climate-related disasters become more frequent and severe, the insurance industry is facing mounting pressure to adapt. This panel will examine how climate change is reshaping risk modelling, premiums, and coverage availability, and what that means for property owners, developers, and governments in terms of costs and building codes. Industry leaders and climate experts will explore how insurers are responding with new products, partnerships, and predictive technologies, and whether current frameworks can withstand escalating climate impacts. We’ll also discuss the critical role insurance plays in driving climate resilience and influencing how and where we build. Is the industry prepared for what’s coming—and what role should it play in shaping a safer future?
