Dress Hire AU demonstrates how architecture can extend the life of both buildings and products. Rather than constructing a new facility, the project transforms and upgrades an existing warehouse, significantly improving occupant comfort, energy performance and customer experience. Located within an industrial precinct in Eltham, the project adapts an underperforming warehouse into a high-performance circular fashion hub enabling the repeated reuse of designer garments at scale. In doing so, it extends the lifespan of an existing building while enabling a business model dedicated to extending product lifecycles.

Dress Hire AU challenges the waste associated with fast fashion by enabling garments to be rented, shared and worn repeatedly rather than purchased for single-use occasions. The architectural response embodies these values, creating a workplace that supports garment circulation, operational efficiency and long-term adaptability.

The 400m² fit-out transforms a storage-focused warehouse into customer-facing infrastructure for garment reuse. It now accommodates a boutique showroom, fitting suites, garment-processing facilities, photography areas, logistics operations and customer spaces, with customer-facing functions clearly separated from back-of-house operations to improve both visitor experience and business efficiency.
